The honest answers
Most questions about Larped come down to one thing: "wait, is this real?" No. Here's the long version, no legal fog.
The big one
No — and it never tries to be. Larped is an entertainment app. It exists so creators, comedians, storytellers, designers and educators can put a realistic-looking financial screen on camera without faking a real bank's app or risking anyone's money.
Think of it like a prop sword in a film. It looks the part for the scene; it can't actually do what the real thing does. Larped is a prop bank account.
No. There is no "link your bank," no card connection, no brokerage import — none of it exists in the app. We didn't hide it or gate it; we simply never built it, because Larped doesn't need real data to do its job.
The only figures the app ever shows are the ones you typed in yourself.
No. Nothing in Larped represents real funds. You can set a balance to ten dollars or ten billion — it makes no difference, because the number is fictional either way. The app cannot hold, send, receive, withdraw or transfer money. There is no wallet behind it.
Using it for content
Yes — that's the whole point of the app. Screen-record it and use the footage in skits, "day in the life" videos, storytelling, comedy bits, reaction content, lessons and mockups. You don't owe us a credit (though we never mind a tag).
The one thing we ask: don't use it to actually deceive people about real money — no scams, no "send me a deposit and I'll show you proof," no impersonating a real bank to defraud someone. Use it for entertainment, not fraud.
Larped is designed to look like a clean, modern finance app, so on a quick scroll it reads as real — that's what makes it useful for content. For anything where context matters, we'd encourage you to be upfront that it's a simulation. Honest "this is fake, here's the bit" content tends to do better anyway.
Absolutely. The down-bad storyline is just as popular as the flex. Set a tiny balance, add a red portfolio day, drop in an overdraft — Larped doesn't care which direction your story goes.
Privacy & data
No, because there's no real financial information involved. The balances and transactions you create are fictional and aren't tied to any real account. We don't ask for your bank details, card numbers or income — there's nowhere in the app to even enter them.
The only data involved is the limited purchase and device information Apple and our payments provider, RevenueCat, need to unlock and restore Larped Pro — never your real finances. See our Privacy Policy for the full detail.
The fictional accounts you build are saved so they're there when you reopen the app. Because none of it is sensitive financial data — it's props you invented — there's nothing private at stake. Full detail is in the Privacy Policy.
Practical stuff
Larped is free to download and start using. If we add premium screen styles or extra customization down the line, we'll make pricing obvious in the app — no surprise charges.
Larped is a mobile app for iPhone and Android. Since most people are screen-recording for vertical video, it's built phone-first.
Please do. A lot of what's in the app came from creators telling us "I wish it could do X." Send feature requests through the support page or email thisdudestartedsomething@gmail.com.
