Terms of Service

Plain-language terms for using Larped. The headline: it's an entertainment app, not a bank — you're making props, not moving money — and it runs without accounts or personal sign-ups.

The short version

Use Larped to make fictional financial screens for entertainment, content and parody. Don't use it to deceive real people about real money. It's not a bank, holds no funds, and connects to nothing. There's no account to create; the content you make stays on your device, and the only data involved is the limited purchase and device information Apple and our payments provider, RevenueCat, need for Larped Pro.

1. Agreement to these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Larped ("Larped," "we," "us," or "our") governing your use of the Larped – Wealth Simulator mobile app and the website at larped.app (together, the "Service"). By downloading, accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

2. What Larped is (and isn't)

Larped is an entertainment and content-creation tool. It lets you build fictional financial screens — simulated bank balances, net worth dashboards and investment portfolios — for videos, storytelling, parody, mockups and education. To be unmistakably clear:

  • Larped is not a bank or any kind of financial institution, money service business, broker or payment provider.
  • It does not hold, send, receive, invest or transfer money of any kind.
  • It does not connect to banks, cards or brokerages and has no ability to access your real accounts.
  • Every figure in the app is fictional and created by you. Nothing in it represents real funds, holdings or financial advice.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, if higher) to use the Service. By using Larped, you represent that you meet this requirement and that you have the legal capacity to agree to these Terms.

4. Your licence to use the app

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to download and use the Service for your own lawful, entertainment and content-creation purposes. You may keep, screenshot and screen-record the fictional screens you build and use that footage in your own content. This licence does not transfer any ownership of the Service to you.

5. Acceptable use

Larped is built for honest fun. Acceptable uses include making skits, comedy, "day in the life" videos, storytelling, film props, design mockups, parody of finance culture, and educational demonstrations — all using clearly fictional figures. We simply ask that, where context matters, you're upfront that what's on screen is a simulation.

6. Prohibited uses

You agree not to use Larped to:

  • Deceive, defraud or scam any person about real money — including faking "proof of funds," income or payment to induce someone to send money, sign an agreement, or part with anything of value.
  • Impersonate a real bank, financial institution, brand or person in order to mislead.
  • Forge or fabricate documents or screens presented as genuine for loans, rentals, visas, employment, benefits or any official or legal purpose.
  • Break any law or regulation, or facilitate someone else doing so.
  • Harass, defame or harm others, or infringe anyone's intellectual-property or privacy rights.
  • Reverse-engineer, resell, or attempt to disrupt or gain unauthorised access to the Service.

In short: a fake screen used as a prop is fine; a fake screen used to make someone believe a lie about real money is not. Misusing the Service is a breach of these Terms and may be illegal.

7. Content you create

The fictional accounts, balances, transactions and portfolios you create are yours. You're responsible for how you use them. You represent that your use of any content you create — including names, logos or numbers you enter — won't infringe third-party rights or break the law. We don't claim ownership of the fictional content you make.

8. Your data & purchases

Larped stores the content you create — your name, balances, and alerts — only on your device. We don't run accounts, ask you to log in, or collect personal information. Your one-time purchase is processed by Apple and our payments provider, RevenueCat, which receive limited purchase and device information needed to unlock and restore Larped Pro. That's the only data involved, it's never used to identify you personally, and it's never sold.

To put that in plain bullets:

  • No account, no sign-up. You don't create an account, and we don't ask for your name, email, phone number or password to use the app — the name and details you enter stay on your device.
  • No banking connections. There is no "link your bank" feature anywhere in the app, so there is no financial-account data to pull in or store.
  • No real financial data. We never collect real balances, transactions, card numbers, income, or bank credentials, and we never receive your payment-card details — Apple handles payment.
  • Purchases. Buying Larped Pro shares limited purchase data and device identifiers with Apple and RevenueCat, used only to unlock, validate and restore your purchase.
  • We don't sell data. We do not sell or rent personal information, and we don't build advertising profiles about you.

For the full detail of what is and isn't processed — including the App Store's privacy disclosures — see our Privacy Policy.

9. Intellectual property

The Service itself — including the Larped name, logo, app design, screen layouts, code and website content — is owned by Larped or its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. Except for the licence in Section 4, these Terms grant you no rights in our trademarks or other intellectual property. You may not copy, modify, distribute or create derivative works of the Service except as expressly allowed.

10. App stores

If you download Larped from the Apple App Store or Google Play, your use is also subject to that store's terms. Those platforms are not responsible for the Service and are not parties to these Terms; however, they may be third-party beneficiaries entitled to enforce them. Any questions about the app itself should come to us, not the store.

11. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure. Nothing in the Service is financial, investment, legal or tax advice, and you shouldn't treat any simulated figure as real or as guidance.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Larped and its team won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from your use of — or inability to use — the Service, including any misuse of fictional content by you or anyone else. Where liability can't be excluded, our total liability is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim, or USD $50.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Larped from any claims, damages, losses and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your misuse of the Service or your breach of these Terms — for example, if you use a fictional screen to deceive someone about real money.

14. Termination

You can stop using the Service and delete the app at any time. We may suspend or end your access to the Service if you breach these Terms or misuse the app. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination — including ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability and indemnification — will continue to apply.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above and, for significant changes, provide a more prominent notice. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.

16. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable at Larped's principal place of business, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and you agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts there for any dispute, except where mandatory local consumer-protection laws give you other rights.

One more reminder

Larped is for entertainment, content creation, parody and education. It is not a financial product, does not provide financial advice, and must never be used to mislead anyone about real money.
