Privacy Policy
We wrote this to be read, not to be skipped. The short version: Larped never touches your real money or real accounts, so there's very little sensitive data to worry about in the first place.
The 10-second summary
No bank connections. No access to your financial accounts. No financial services. The "money" in Larped is fictional and made up by you. The content you create stays on your device; the only data involved is the limited purchase and device information Apple and our payments provider, RevenueCat, need to unlock and restore Larped Pro. It's never used to identify you personally, and it's never sold.
1. Who we are
Larped ("Larped," "we," "us," or "our") makes the Larped – Wealth Simulator mobile app and operates the website at larped.app. Larped is an entertainment and content-creation product. This policy explains what information we handle when you use the app or visit the site, and the choices you have.
2. What Larped is — and is not
This section matters more than any other, so we're putting it up front:
- No banking connections. Larped does not link to, log into, or communicate with any bank, credit union, card network, brokerage, payment processor or other financial institution. There is no "connect your account" feature in the app.
- No access to your financial accounts. We cannot see your real balances, transactions, statements, card numbers or income. The app has no mechanism to retrieve them.
- No financial services offered. Larped does not hold, send, receive, invest, lend or transfer money. It is not a bank, payment app, wallet, broker or financial advisor, and nothing in it should be treated as financial advice.
- Everything is fictional. The balances, transactions, net worth figures and portfolios you create are made up by you for entertainment. They do not represent real funds or real holdings.
Because of this, the categories of sensitive financial data that a real banking app would handle simply do not exist within Larped.
3. Information we collect
We aim to collect as little as possible. Depending on how you use Larped, this may include:
a. The content you create (stored on your device)
The simulated accounts, balances, transactions, names and alerts you build are stored on your own device so they're available when you reopen the app (see Data storage). This content is invented by you, is not real financial information, and isn't sent to us to run an account — there's no sign-up or login.
b. Purchases & limited device data (Apple + RevenueCat)
If you buy Larped Pro, the purchase is processed by Apple (the App Store) and our payments provider, RevenueCat. They receive limited purchase data and device identifiers needed to unlock, validate and restore your purchase across your devices, and RevenueCat's SDK may collect basic diagnostic and identifier data to operate that purchase functionality. We use this only to deliver and restore Larped Pro; it isn't used to identify you personally and it isn't sold. We never receive your full payment-card details — Apple handles payment.
c. Messages you send us
If you contact support or submit the form on our website, we receive the information you provide — your name, email and the contents of your message — so we can reply and improve the product.
d. Basic website data
Like most websites, larped.app and our static hosting provider may log standard request data (IP address, browser type, pages visited) for security and performance.
4. Information we do not collect
To be explicit, Larped does not collect:
- Real bank account numbers, balances, transactions or statements
- Real credit or debit card numbers
- Bank login credentials of any kind
- Your income, net worth or other real financial details
- Government-issued identification or Social Security / national insurance numbers
- Precise GPS location
There is nowhere in the app to enter most of this, by design.
5. How we use information
We use the limited information above only to:
- Provide the app and save the fictional content you create
- Unlock, validate and restore your Larped Pro purchase
- Diagnose crashes, fix bugs and improve performance
- Understand which features creators find useful so we can prioritize the roadmap
- Respond to your support messages and feature requests
- Keep the app and website secure and prevent abuse
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles about you.
6. Data storage & retention
The fictional accounts you build are saved so you don't lose your work between sessions. Analytics and diagnostics data are retained only as long as useful for the purposes above and are kept in aggregated or de-identified form where practical. Support messages are kept as long as needed to help you and to maintain our records. If you delete the app, locally stored content created in the app is removed with it.
7. Sharing & third parties
We share limited information only with the service providers that make Larped work: Apple and Google (their app stores and in-app purchase systems), RevenueCat (our payments provider, which processes purchase data and device identifiers to unlock and restore Larped Pro), our website host (a static hosting platform), and our email/support tools. These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms and appropriate agreements. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety and security of our users and our product. We do not sell personal data to third parties.
8. Your choices & rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or limit the processing of your personal information, and to object to certain uses. Because Larped holds so little personal data, most requests are simple to honor. You can:
- Limit analytics through your device's privacy settings and app-tracking controls
- Delete the fictional content you've created within the app
- Email us to request access to, or deletion of, any personal data we hold about you
To make a request, contact thisdudestartedsomething@gmail.com. We'll respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
9. Children
Larped is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we'll delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above and, for significant changes, provide a more prominent notice in the app or on this page. Continued use of Larped after an update means you accept the revised policy.
11. Contact us
Questions about privacy, or want to make a data request? Email thisdudestartedsomething@gmail.com or use our support page. For general questions, thisdudestartedsomething@gmail.com works too.
One more reminder
Larped is for entertainment, content creation, parody and education. It is not a financial product and does not provide financial, investment, legal or tax advice. Don't use it to mislead anyone about real money.
